LE CREUSOT: Brand new tennis courts

The renovation of the René Besset hall continues. After changing the translucent trays to improve the visual and thermal quality of the hall, a major renovation project for the surfaces of the indoor tennis courts has just been carried out.

On Friday morning, Matéo Centeno, technical manager, who followed the construction site from A to Z with Gilles Garcin, head of the Sports department, presented the progress of the various operations carried out to Mayor David Marti and Arnaud Deleplanque, councilor delegated to sport. After complete removal, manual sanding, Kärcher washing and treatment of cracks over the entire surface, a first layer of adhesion was applied. A double layer of synthetic resin was then applied to all three courts, i.e. an area of 2,000 m2. This project was entrusted to the company Balles Neuves for an amount of €24,876. A result that fully satisfied Mayor David Marti. “We are investing in all the sports centers and we are maintaining them. The LED lighting in the René Besset hall will follow soon.”

They are the best placed to talk about it. Joëlle, Marie-Claude, Marcel and Jean-Marc are happy retirees. They were there this Friday morning at 9 o’clock to exchange balls. “I have been playing here for 37 years, the change is remarkable. It is a beautiful result with a beautiful aesthetic. Now, we have to adapt to this new surface, the supports change, the balls are slower and the effects are more marked”, says Joëlle.
