On January 7, 2015, Simon Fieschi, a member of the Charlie Hebdo editorial team, was the first to be hit by a bullet from the Kouachi brothers. Living for nine years with a spinal injury, he was found lifeless in a Paris hotel room on Saturday October 19. Aged 40, Fieschi was an emblematic figure of the weekly.
Responsible for the Charlie Hebdo website, Simon Fieschi survived the attack on January 7, 2015. His body was discovered this week on the sixth floor of a Parisian hotel.
During the trial of the attacks against Charlie Hebdo, four years ago, Simon Fieschi testified standing up, supported by his crutches and carried by his determination: “For several years, a physical reconstruction, rebuilding a life on completely different bases with a disability, a professional life and an environment that had to change”.
Simon Fieschi also spoke in colleges to talk about terrorism, like other survivors of attacks. This Saturday, October 19 in the evening, Emmanuel Macron spoke on social networks of a “tear which revives intact pain almost a decade later”. The investigation is currently continuing to determine the precise reasons for the death.
