The incident took place this Wednesday, around 5pm, during a road check in the town of Chesnay, in the . According to our information, a 50-year-old municipal police officer was violently hit by a black Peugeot 208 vehicle, which was speeding.

The precise circumstances of the incident remain unclear. However, a police source contacted by the JDD indicates that it was a refusal to comply with the check. The vehicle involved, a stolen car, hit the officer before fleeing.

The perpetrator of this act, of “African type”, as reported by a police source, was finally intercepted at 5:50 p.m., in the 15th arrondissement of , on the ring road, by a security and intervention company (CSI). The police officer, whose life is not in danger, was taken into care as a relative emergency and transported to the André Mignot hospital, in Chesnay. As for the suspect, he was taken into custody and will be questioned in the coming hours by investigators, in order to shed light on the motivations behind this act.
