AC Milan – Liverpool: official line-ups

AC Milan, Liverpool, two important teams on the European scene and which bring back exciting memories of the Champions League. This Tuesday, the two teams face each other at San Siro for the first day of the group stage of the new format of the cup with the big ears. If they have had a difficult start to the season with three matches without a win in the first three days of Serie A, the Italians finally got their counter unlocked against Venice last weekend (4-0). The Reds, for their part, have been rather attractive in the Premier League but, after three wins, the Liverpuldians remain on a surprising defeat against Nottingham (0-1).

For this match, Paulo Fonseca lines up a 4-2-3-1 with Maignan in goal and Calabria, Pavlovic, Tomori and Théo Hernandez in defence. Fofana and Loftus-Cheek form the double pivot while Reijnders plays a notch higher. Pulisic and Leao will occupy the wings while Morata will be alone up front. Opposite, Arne Slot chooses the same system with Alisson in goal and a rearguard of Alexander-Arnold, Konaté, Van Dijk, Tsimikas. Gravenberch and Mac Allister will be in front of the defence while Salah, Szoboszlai and Gakpo will try to feed Jota with balls.
