Lille OSC get their UEFA Champions League campaign underway against Sporting in Portugal on Tuesday night. For the encounter, big names such as Jonathan David and Angel Gomes are set to return to the starting XI.
After returning late on from the international break for Lille’s match against AS Saint-Étienne on Friday, David only earned a place on the bench as LOSC went on to lose 1-0 to The Greens. However, he, like England international Gomes, are both expected to start.
There are no fresh injury concerns for Bruno Genesio. Ismaily, Hakon Arnar Haraldsson, Ngal’ayel Mukau, Ethan Mbappé, Samuel Umtiti, and Nabil Bentaleb all remain out. André Gomes, signed on a free transfer following the closure of the transfer window, was not brought in time to be included in Lille’s Champions League squad. He is therefore ineligible to face Sporting.
