Known as the white wolf in all the emergency centres of Pas-de-Calais, it was with emotion that the firefighters and residents of Mondicourt (his village of residence) learned of the death of Chief Warrant Officer Henri Arimany, Sunday at the age of 64. He had been battling illness for several months.
43 years of service
Henri Arimany began his career with the firefighters at a young age, becoming a cadet as a teenager and then a volunteer firefighter at the age of 16. The departmental fire and rescue service awarded him the departmental merit medal and the grand-gold medal for 40 years of service. He worked in the rescue centers of Bapaume, Arras and Avesnes-le-Comte, a barracks where he ended his professional career by asserting his retirement rights in 2018. He was an emblematic figure there, but also the oldest member of the rescue center. When he retired, he did not hesitate to take shifts, this time as a volunteer firefighter at the Pas-en-Artois rescue center.
His funeral will take place this Thursday, September 19, at the Saint-Maurice church in Mondicourt at 2:30 p.m.
