The Cointre (lake restaurant)-Guiliani (lake chalets)-Sala (Labarthe-Rivière VPN garage) Challenge was a great success in terms of participation.Every year we break records ” said the president of the Golf du Comminges in Montréjeau, Didier Larrieu. It was indeed a great golf scramble competition (those in the know will understand) which brought together 94 participants. The golfers of the day came from several regions of . Among them, high-level players, like the Landes native Arthur Tissendié, from the Golf Club de Palmola in Buzet sur Tarn. He won the competition in gross with the native Vincent Rigozando. The victory in net (when the gross results are weighted according to the level of each player) went to the Gers native Jordane Marquez and Alexis Brunel. The local Jean Dauba won the approach competition for green number 4. The awards ceremony was held in the presence of the Montauban municipal councilors Philippe Brillaud and Jacques Gallet. It was marked by the intervention of Miguel Marquez who was the first coach of the Golf du Comminges in 1988, when the club was created. Miguel Marquez expressed all his attachment to this Golf du Comminges. Remembering the beginnings, he confided “JI waded on this ground there, around the lake, with Mr. Tignol (Editor’s note: Adrien Tignol, founder of the golf course). I am delighted to see the magnitude that this course has taken. When I see today what golf has become, and what it will probably become, it is a phenomenal pride. Bravo for the work accomplished, it is with people like you that we can continue to grow“. Philippe Lacour did not forget to thank Eric, David and Laurence, the green-keeper, the gardener, and the secretary, as well as the volunteers essential to the success of a day that ended beautifully with the lively and cheerful show of the Polynesian dancers of the Atikua association.
