Questioned by La Voix du , the president of RC , who no longer sits on the board of directors of the LFP, strengthened his positions on a certain number of subjects, including that of TV rights.

His coup made headlines in the press before the LFP’s general meeting, which he described as a “sham election”. By slamming the door on the LFP board of directors, which re-elected Vincent Labrune as head of the League in his absence and by a very large majority, the president of RC Lens wanted to send a message.

“I am a fairly clear person. When something is wrong, I say so. If I have to draw the consequences, I draw them,” he said in an interview with La Voix du Nord. While he promises to have turned the page on this election, “we are not in a guerrilla war with the League,” he promises, Joseph Oughourlian remains very critical of the governance and choices made by French football, which “has put itself in a delicate situation all by itself.”

“40 euros per month seemed very, very expensive to me.”

The RC Lens boss is pleased that the main broadcaster of Ligue 1, DAZN, has become more reasonable in his eyes with a 50% discount on the price of its subscriptions for eight Ligue 1 matches. But he continues to have some reservations, including about the group’s pricing policy. “I said it, by constantly changing broadcasters, breaking the product into several pieces, we are losing our customers. We are abandoning our supporters a little, who no longer know which broadcaster to turn to. And the price is important. I am very focused on my supporters. We are the poorest region in . 40 euros per month seemed very, very expensive to me. Even 20.”

DAZN is currently offering, for a limited period (from September 10 to 22), a halving of the price of its subscriptions for a first subscription, whether it is the formula with commitment (which goes from 29.99 to 19.99 euros per month over twelve months) or the monthly offer without commitment which is 39.99 euros, with the first two months at 19.99 euros thanks to this discount. But the promotion in question does not concern the first subscribers who paid full price at the launch of the offer. They are out of pocket. Somewhat embarrassed when the first criticisms arose, DAZN invited each subscriber to negotiate individually with customer service to try to benefit from this reduction.
