This season, the first part of the UEFA Champions League has been reorganised. From now on, 36 teams will be taking part in the biggest European football competition, all in a single group. Each club that qualifies for the tournament will play 8 matches, with 4 home games and 4 away games. The top 8 teams at the end of this mini-championship will qualify directly for the UEFA Champions League round of 16, while those ranked 9th to 24th will play each other in a play-off that represents a round of 32, while the others will be directly eliminated from all European competitions. From the round of 16 onwards, the format of recent years will return with home-and-away matches until the end, except for the final, which will be a one-off match. The first matchday of the UEFA Champions League will start on Tuesday 17 September and will be spread over three days, until Thursday 19 September. The outcome of this championship phase will be known on January 29, 2025. The round of 16 will be on March 4 and 5, while the grand final of the UEFA Champions League, at the Fußball Arena in Munich, is scheduled for August 28, 2025.
