A violent collision occurred this Wednesday, April 17, around noon, on the Saveuse road. The two vehicles collided a few kilometers from the exit, on the departmental 211 which includes, at this point, several bends. Inside one of the vehicles: a driver and her daughter.

The teenager, aged 13 and attending Edouard-Lucas college in Amiens, died instantly. His mother, who remained stuck in the passenger compartment, had to be extricated before being evacuated to hospital in absolute emergency. Opposite, the motorist was alone on board. She was also evacuated in very serious condition.

“They had to take her out through the trunk”

According to this witness, who did not see the accident but was on site immediately afterwards, the two vehicles were completely crushed when she arrived: “ A gentleman was taking care of the car with the two women. We gave the youngest a cardiac massage until the firefighters arrived… They took the second woman away quickly. For the person I was looking after in the red car (Editor’s note: the single driver), it took much longer because they had to take her out through the trunk and cut the door. “.

In the town of Saveuse, where the teenager and her mother had lived for around five years, residents are in shock. “ It’s terrible and very sad what happened. Dying so young and in such circumstances is always difficult to accept », Comments the mayor of Saveuse, Georges Dufour, who was immediately notified by the police. He knows this road is very dangerous because of its turns. “ Unfortunately, many drivers drive very fast here and overtake other cars even though there is a white line prohibiting it. » We do not yet know anything about the circumstances of the accident but traces which were still visible this Thursday on the road testify to the violence of the impact.
