Last weekend, the Biran festival committee organized a mountain outing. “A third edition for the club,” confided the president of the Crocos de Biran, Martine Martinez. They spent the day at Lac d’Estaing in the Hautes-Pyrénées.

Lake Estaing, made them climb to an altitude of 1,161 meters in the Estaing Valley, this glacial lake is located in the heart of the Pyrenees National Park. They were able to know that its name comes from the Occitan term ‘Estang’, which means expanse of water.

Legend has it that Lake Estaing was once inhabited by fairies. They travelled the distance from Biran, with the famous Pagès de Bassoues coaches. The passengers were very satisfied with the service: “It was the boss who accompanied us, he is very kind and very professional!” They arrived around 10:30 a.m., then walked until 11:30 a.m. They drank the aperitif offered by the festival committee, followed by the Spanish inn.

To lead, the group went around the lake, and the 38 people who composed it followed well. Around 4:30 p.m., direction Biran, where the Spanish inn resumed its rights, to close a day full of memories, with very pleasant weather.
