Good news for swimmers! The Butte swimming pool, located rue Jack-Meslin in Octeville (Cherbourg-en-Cotentin, Manche), can win back its public from this Tuesday, June 25, 2024, the City announces in a press release.

It had been closed since April 19, 2024 following the rupture of a gas pipe near the establishment.

The public and the various activities usually offered had been transferred to other pools from Cherbourg-en-Cotentin.

Closed for more than two months

The time of the work allowing the restoration of pipes to working orderthe swimming pool was able to benefit from some improvements, such as “failing elements of the dome” or “the redesign of the solarium”, further specifies the town hall.

The water quality also gave the green light for reopening, no presence of legionella not having been noted.
