There was no shortage of it, Real Madrid faced Alvaro Morata's AC Milan and the former Castilla scorer shook the nets at the Bernabéu. A habit!
Failing to have imposed himself at Real Madrid (at the exit of Castilla then at the end of a 2016-2017 season with 20 goals), Alvaro Morata does not miss the opportunity to score against one of his clubs trainers (with Atlético and Getafe). The 32-year-old Spanish international, who joined AC Milan last July after the Seleccion's coronation at Euro 2024, took advantage of his return to the Bernabéu on Tuesday evening to open his goal counter in
Champions League.
The Rossoneri opened the scoring from a corner thanks to Malick Thiaw (12th), before an equalizer on a penalty converted by Vinicius from a Panenka in front of Mike Maignan (23rd). Kylian Mbappé and his teammates tried to establish their domination, but a loss of ball from Aurélien Tchouameni (already at fault on Thiaw's goal), allowed Rafael Leao to strike forcefully. Andriy Lunin pushed the ball back right in front of him and it was Morata who emerged to give his team the advantage (39th).
Morata scores his seventh goal against Real Madrid and it is quite simply the opponent against whom he has scored the most goals in his career! The striker is even making his third goal against Casa Blanca in the Champions League, after scoring two goals against Real in the colors of Juventus.
