Shot in the head, the young man died in circumstances which, according to police sources, could be linked to drug trafficking. The prosecution opened an investigation. Nicolas was a member of the same rugby club as Thomas, killed almost a year ago to the day, during a ball in Crépol.
The Minister of the Interior called for tougher laws to combat these tragedies. “Ultraviolence sows death and chaos. The fight we must wage requires legislative rearmament and determination from everyone at every moment,” he wrote on the social network X.

Since his arrival in Beauvau, Bruno Retailleau has made numerous declarations of firmness on the issue of violence and drug trafficking. “Narcoscum are everywhere. We will have to confront them relentlessly,” he said after the fatal shooting on October 31 in Poitiers. He also described the situation as a “tipping point” for the country, calling for strengthening the legislative arsenal and collective mobilization against this “ultraviolence which spreads chaos”.
Violence linked to drug trafficking has increased in recent days in France. Near Valence, two shootings twenty-four hours apart caused the death of an 18-year-old as well as that of Nicolas, while in Rennes a 5-year-old child was seriously injured by gunfire in the street , while he was in his father's car during a chase.
