On the pitch of the red lantern of Liga, Real Madrid easily won (0-3) thanks in particular to Kylian Mbappé's hat-trick. The first for the Frenchman in the Madrid jersey which concludes a perfect week.
Kylian Mbappé continues to impress with perhaps a benchmark match this season. On the Real Valladolid pitch, Real's number 9 scored three times. Two goals with identical technique and a penalty at the end of the match to complete a logical victory for the Merengues. With Atlético de Madrid's draw this Saturday against Villarreal (1-1), Ancelotti's men now have a four-point lead at the top of the championship. For Mbappé, the crazy series continues.
-1 and 2 and 3-0!
The last weeks achieved by Mbappé on a statistical level speak for themselves. In his last five games with Real, including the trip to Valladolid, the Frenchman has scored eight goals. Already author of a double against Las Palmas on the last day and a goal during Real's demonstration in the Champions League against Salzburg (5-1), Mbappé seems to have set the record straight. On a superb action with Bellingham and a well-felt one-two, Mbappé opened his right foot in the 30th minute for the 0-1. Apart from Torres' header in the second minute diverted by Courtois, Real were never worried by their opponent. Impactful in his calls, Mbappé secured the success of his team with a carbon copy of the first goal. On the other hand, Rodrygo served the Frenchman in the area who once again rolled in from the right (56th). Real Madrid were not going to stop there. Looking for the third goal and in particular the hat-trick from their French striker, Real got what they wanted in added time, helped by a VAR decision. Following a slightly too strong tackle from Martin, Bellingham found himself on the ground in the area. The referee pointed to the penalty spot, as if to show the Frenchman the path to his first hat-trick in Madrid colors. Already failing in this exercise this season, the Frenchman did not tremble and took care of his stats in a completely controlled match.
Already 22 goals this season
With this first hat-trick, Mbappé brings his total of goals to 22 this season in 32 matches played for Real. If the first months were complicated, the Frenchman regained his confidence to be ruthless in front of goal. This hat-trick is also an opportunity to come back one step behind Lewandowski in the La Liga scorers' rankings. With 16 goals, the Pole still leads the race for the Pichichi title (top scorer in the Spanish championship), but the Frenchman is getting closer. As a reminder, the best total in the league over a season remains the 2018/2019 financial year with PSG where Mbappé scored 33 goals. A great challenge for the French international who seems to have regained his appetite in front of the cages.
