What Happened to Dean Wade? Cavaliers Face Yet Another Injury Concern As 28YO Heads to Locker Room vs 76ers

Tragedy strikes the Cavs! They headed into tonight’s Sixers clash hoping to shake off Wednesday’s loss against the Rockets. But despite playing without Joel Embiid, the Philly franchise put up a solid fight and posed a huge challenge for the visitors. And Cavs’ concerns grew when Dean Wade was forced to leave the game due to an unfortunate injury.

The incident occurred in the closing minutes of the third quarter. As Tyrese Maxey drove to the basket for a layup, Wade stepped in his lane to contest the shot. Well, his effort paid off as the Sixers guard missed. However, Wade still had his eyes on the ball and accidentally tripped on Maxey’s foot, who fell on the floor following his shot attempt. Unfortunately, it led to Dean tweaking his knee.

While the play continued, the forward could be seen favoring his knee and struggling to run the floor. Sure enough, he subbed out of the game seconds later and headed straight to the locker room to assess the issue. Adding to the concerns, it was revealed that he would not return for the remainder of the game. The reason? A right knee injury.

Obviously, this is a massive blow to the team because Dean has played a key role in their success, averaging 6.1 points and over five rebounds. Moreover, they cannot afford another injury when they are already dealing with multiple sidelined stars. Yes, Evan Mobley and Isaac Okoro missed their fourth straight game tonight with a calf and shoulder strain respectively. Even Caris LeVert is unavailable due to a wrist injury. Sure enough, these setbacks hurt the Cleveland franchise tonight.

When Wade got injured, the game was neck and neck with tied score. And he left with 2 points and four assists. However, his departure left a major void in the team’s offense and they crumbled under pressure. Yes, leaving everyone shocked, the Cavs lost by three points despite Donovan Mitchell’s 37-point outing. Even Ty Jerome had 33 points off the bench, but not enough to save the day.

Well, that’s because the Sixers responded brilliantly even without Joel. In a pure team effort, six of their players scored in double-digits. Of course, Paul George led the charge with a thirty piece. And Maxey was close behind with one less point. Sure, the Cavs are still the number one team in the East. But these constant injury woes could put their historic season in jeopardy. They would be hoping that Wade’s injury is not serious and he returns in the next game. Prayers Up!
