VfL Wolfsburg – Holstein Kiel

Friday, 8.30 p.m. / DAZN

The first leg was the Bundesliga premiere and went to the Wolves (2-0), who lead the overall record from league games in the lower leagues (22-10-17). VfL Wolfsburg also prevailed in both games in the 2018 relegation campaign (3:1/1:0). In the Oberliga , VfL won seven home games in a row from 1985 to 1992, including a 9-1 win. Last Kiel victory there: 1984/85 (0:2). Kiel is still waiting for its first away win in the Bundesliga, while Wolfsburg has a negative home record (3-2-4). VfL is unbeaten in seven games against promoted teams and has not won five times on Fridays. With his 27th bench appearance in the league, coach Ralph Hasenhüttl has already moved into the top ten of the Wolfsburg club rankings.

More information

Saturday, 3:30 p.m. / Sky

In 2024, Bayer Leverkusen only lost one Bundesliga game – at home against Leipzig (2:3). Since then, the champions have been unbeaten in 16 games, and have been unbeaten in 25 away games, in which they have always scored. Bayer traditionally has problems against RB, the Saxons have a clearly positive record (8-4-5), but in Leipzig it is closer (4-1-3). Five goals were scored in each of the last three duels, and the score is never 0-0. Bayer goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky could become the second Bundesliga professional to remain unbeaten for 50 games in a row. Curious: Marco Rose’s team never drew against Leverkusen (4-0-7).

Borussia Dortmund – Werder Bremen

Saturday, 3:30 p.m. / Sky

BVB has been unbeaten for four games in the duel between the founding members, who are meeting each other for the 112th time in the Bundesliga (49-20-42). Before that, there was the legendary 2-3 in Dortmund on August 20, 2022, when Werder turned a 2-0 deficit into a win after the 89th minute. It was Bremen’s tenth victory in this duel after coming from behind; it has never happened more often for Borussia. Both started 2025 weakly, Borussia lost all four competitive games and now the coach, Werder got one point from three games. Borussia is threatened with four defeats in a row in the league for the first time since October 2014. At home she is three games without a win. Werder has six points more away than at home (16:10) and can already match last year’s score with a draw.

SC Freiburg – Bayern Munich

Saturday, 3:30 p.m. / Sky

The southern duel is celebrating its anniversary, meeting in the Bundesliga for the 50th time. Freiburg was only able to win four games, all at home and most recently on May 16, 2015 (2:1). They have been waiting for a repeat for 17 league games, after all there was a 2-2 draw in March 2024. The league leaders have won ten of the last twelve league games and also lead the away table. Freiburg is unbeaten in five home games, most recently there were three wins – they haven’t celebrated four since autumn 2022. Manuel Neuer is on the verge of his 350th Bundesliga win, only teammate Thomas Müller has more (352).

FC Augsburg – 1. FC Heidenheim

Saturday, 3:30 p.m. / Sky

-

Should there be a 0-0 draw or Augsburg win without conceding a goal, both teams would set a club record. For FCA it would be the third clean sheet game in a row (like 2016/17), and for Heidenheim it would be the seventh away game without a win (like last year). However, the first leg went to FCH (4-0), the premiere in Augsburg in 2023 went to FCA (1-0). Augsburg have recently won twice; a series of three wins would be their season record. The most goals were scored in Heidenheim away games (37).

Mainz 05 – VfB Stuttgart

Saturday, 3:30 p.m. / Sky

Mainz has been waiting for a three-pointer against its very first Bundesliga opponent for nine games (2:4 in Stuttgart in 2004). In Mainz, VfB has won three times in the past four years, FSV last won in August 2018 (1-0). But he can count the first leg (3:3) as a success. Under coach Sebastian Hoeneß, VfB always scored at least three goals against Mainz. FSV won its last four home games in the league, the longest streak since January/February 2022 (five). VfB won all games in 2025 and would set the club record (from 1994, 2010 and 2016) with their fourth win at the restart.

Mönchengladbach – VfL Bochum

Saturday, 6.30 p.m. / Sky

This western duel was won four times by Borussia Mönchengladbach, significantly improving their record (30-21-20). Since being promoted back, Bochum has always lost to Borussia, the last win being in the relegation year of 2010 (2-1 in January). There was never a 0-0 draw in Mönchengladbach. Borussia started the year with three defeats, a record under coach Gerardo Seoane. Bad omen: against bottom teams they are five games without a win and even 13 in the top game on Saturday evening. VfL Bochum is two games unbeaten (already a season record), but from a purely sporting point of view they still have no away win as long as the only point (1-1 at Union) is not officially tripled by a court order. After all, nowhere did VfL score more goals than against Borussia (45).

TSG Hoffenheim – Eintracht Frankfurt

Sunday, 3:30 p.m. / DAZN

Eintracht Frankfurt won the last three duels, each 3-1. They currently do not have a longer winning streak against any club. In Sinsheim (6-4-5) they have won four times in the last six years, with both teams always scoring. If Eintracht wins, they will set a club record for points after 19 match days. Four wins at the start of the year would also be a novelty. The hosts have already lost five home games this season and have allowed guests goals 29 times in a row. If they score, their first goal would also be number 900 in their Bundesliga history.

FC St. Pauli – Union Berlin

Sunday, 5:30 p.m. / DAZN

Only the most recent of the 25 league games took place in the Bundesliga, with Union winning the first leg 1-0. The last time they met at Millerntor was on February 3rd, 2019 in the 2nd league (3:2), it was the only win from the last eleven competitive games. If one of them comes along, St. Pauli will have to solve its goal block: the promoted team didn’t score in seven of the eight home games, and that didn’t even happen to Tasmania Berlin. Union, on the other hand, threatens to set a club record if they suffer their sixth away defeat in a row. But out of 22 games against promoted teams, Union only lost two and guest coach Steffen Baumgart and his teams recently won three times in a row against St. Pauli – without conceding a goal!
