Ange Postecoglou should axe Tottenham striker Richarlison at halftime against Hoffenheim on Thursday.

Postecoglou decided to stick by Son Heung-min at the Rhein-Neckar-Arena on 23 January, which left fans furious.

However, the South Korean silenced his doubters as he doubled Spurs’ lead midway through the first half after James Maddison had opened the scoring inside the first five minutes.

As a result, Postecoglou’s side look on course to secure a much-needed win in the UEFA Europa League. However, the North London side have demonstrated this season that they are capable of throwing leads away.

Therefore, if Postecoglou wants to make sure of this victory, he should bring off Richarlison at halftime.

Richarlison hasn’t necessarily had a bad game in Germany. However, the Brazillian also hasn’t offered much up front.

If Spurs are going to secure this win, knowing how most of their matches have gone this season, they are likely going to need an extra goal or two, and Richarlison doesn’t look like scoring those goals.

As per Sofascore, the striker has managed just one shot on target, while zero per cent of his attempted dribbles have been successful.

In addition, although he has completed 80 per cent of his passes, only 50 per cent of his crosses were accurate in the first half, while the 27-year-old also lost both of his ground duels and aerial duels, while giving possession away 10 times.

Toward the end of the first half, the hosts started to enjoy a bit more possession in Spurs’ half as the North London side, and Richarlison, struggled to keep possession further up the pitch.

Therefore, perhaps Will Lankshear could be introduced and handed an opportunity to show what he can do – which would in turn keep the 19-year-old, who is thought to be frustrated by his lack of playing time, happy.

In other Tottenham news, the club are huge favourites to sign one player after a £55million update.
