on RTC Sport

Twenty-first day in the Interregional Championship Serie D group I. Both Siracusa, 1-0 in Sant’Agata, and Reggina, 1-0 in Ragusa, win at the top. Nino Ragusa decides for the Amaranths in the 32nd minute when the attacker bursts into the area and pushes a ball created by Toti Porcino into the goal. The Amaranto remain 3 points behind the leaders and await the direct clash scheduled for February 9th at the Granillo. Sambiase slips to Caltanissetta where they know the disappointment of defeat after only victories and a draw. Nissa goes ahead with Diaz and Rotulo, Sambiase shortens with Ferraro but it’s not enough, 2 to 1 at the end. Sambiase is now third and maintains a 1 point lead over the disappointing Scafatese blocked at home by Enna. The Campanians slip to within 7 of first place and seem to abandon their ambition of direct promotion. Behind them, Vibonese bursts in and overwhelms Pompeii away with a brace from Terranova and a goal from Alagna and moves to within two of Atzori’s team. Finally Locri beat Paterno’ at home 2 to 2. Goals by Fangwa and Leveque for the Ionian team, by Guida and Francia for the guests. The Amaranth team, in twelfth place, maintains a one-point lead on the playout zone.
