Become essential alongside Léa Salamé to host What an era! every Saturday on France 2, Christophe Dechavanne could well be on his way out. According to The Parisianthe former TF1 host would be courted by one of the new channels which will join TNT next September.
In 2022, France Télévisions decides to revolutionize its Saturday late evening slot. After 16 years spent in this time slot (with We are not in bed Then We are live), Laurent Ruquier packs up and gives way to Léa Salaméher co-host during the last season. The latter therefore returns alone to the controls of a new program, What an era!but can count on the support of a very experienced and above all omnipresent columnist: Christophe Dechavanne. A new start for the former TF1 host, who has regained popularity with the public with his sense of humor and his clashes with guests, like this altercation with Thierry Ardisson cut during editing. But his temperament is not always unanimous among the management of France TV, who even considered replacing him during the last summer break.
A new challenge?
If Christophe Dechavanne made his return at the start of the school year and continues to create buzz on set, his adventure in public service could well be coming to an end. In fact, according to information from Parisian this Thursday, January 23, the host is part of the short-list of West France to join the team of the daily talk show of its new channel on TNT, OFTV. A channel which will make its big debut on September 1st on TNT channel 19, just after T18, the other little news. Nearly 50 production companies responded to the call for tenders for this program and the name of Christophe Dechavanne was proposed by Simone Harari Baulieu, who produces Everyone wants to take their place et Slam. Our colleagues also argue that the names of Sidonie Bonnec and Paul Larrouturou were also suggested to the leaders of West France. An opportunity which could represent a great challenge for Christophe Dechavanne, never at the helm of a daily talk show in his career. But will he agree to leave the evening show on France 2 for a bet on a new channel?
