Journalist and essayist Jean-François Kahn died at the age of 86, reported this Thursday, January 23 The Point et The World. He is famous for having founded, in 1984, the weekly Thursday Event (which will be resumed in the 1990s before disappearing in 2001) then, in 1997, Marianneof which he will be director for ten years. The two titles are distinguished by a radically centrist line.

Before these editorial adventures, Jean-François Kahn worked for -Presse, L’ExpressEurope 1 and The World. He is notably the co-author of the survey of L’Express which led to the revelation of the Ben Barka affair. He was also editorial director of Literary news (in 1977), director of Paris morning (1983) and participated in the famous political show The Moment of Truth. He is also the author of numerous works, especially political books.

He had a brief stint in politics, elected centrist in 2008 to the European deputy which he immediately renounced.
