Raphinha is named man of the match in Barcelona’s historic comeback

After a decisive performance in Barcelona’s great victory, Raphinha was named man of the match in the match against Benfica. The Brazilian scored twice and ensured a historic victory for the Blaugrana over the Eagles 5-4, at the Estádio da Luz, in Lisbon. In addition to qualifying for the round of 16.

-It’s a mix of feelings. I confess that 3-1 in the first half shook us, but we talked at halftime. We managed to maintain concentration in the second half. The striker revealed that there was an argument between Blaugrana players and Benfica fans after the match ended. Furthermore, he explained that he responded after being insulted.

-Everyone’s blood is warm. We were excited to celebrate, and they were upset about the defeat. I understand their side. Some fans insulted me, I ended up insulting them back. I respect everyone, but I don’t take shit home. – he explained.

Raphinha has had the best year of his career so far in the 2024/2025 season. The Brazilian has scored 22 goals and provided nine assists in 30 games so far. Furthermore, he was named man of the match twice in the Champions League in the Blaugrana’s victories over Young Boys and Bayern Munich.
