A fire broke out at a Grand Kartal Hotel located in Kartalkaya Ski Resort in Bolu at around 03.30 for an unknown reason, and the flames quickly engulfed the hotel. Upon notice, many fire brigades, AFAD, UMKE and medical teams and helicopters were dispatched to the region from the city center, districts and surrounding provinces. 10 people died and 32 people were injured in the fire.

Ali Yerlikaya: We have 10 dead and 32 injured
In his first statement regarding the fire, Minister of Internal Affairs Ali Yerlikaya stated that 10 people died and 32 people were injured. Yerlikaya announced that the fire was intervened with 267 personnel.
The fire broke out in the restaurant
Bolu Governor Abdulaziz Aydın also said that the fire in Kartalkaya Ski Center started in the restaurant section on the 4th floor of the hotel, it is believed that it spread to the upper floors, and the exact cause will become clear after the studies.
Stating that the intervention to the fire on the upper floors of the hotel is continuing, Governor Aydın stated that the teams are checking the rooms one by one.
Field hospital was established
While the response to the fire, in which 10 people lost their lives and 32 people were injured, continued, a field hospital was established in the region. The injured are treated in the established field hospital.
1 person hung a sheet and ran away

Minister of Justice Yılmaz Minister Tunç announced that an investigation has been launched into the fire. Tunç said, “The fire that broke out in a hotel in Bolu Kartalkaya deeply saddened all of us. A judicial investigation was initiated by the Bolu Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office regarding the fire, and 6 public prosecutors were appointed. In addition, an expert committee of 5 people was formed. The investigation is being carried out meticulously. May God have mercy on our citizens who lost their lives in the fire. “I wish a speedy recovery to our injured citizens,” he said.
Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan announced that four chief inspectors were assigned to the fire.

Sözcü Newspaper wrote that one of its writers, Nedim Türkmen, was at the hotel with his family at the time of the fire and could not be reached.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said on his social media account, “I pray for God’s mercy on our citizens who lost their lives in the fire that occurred in a hotel in Kartalkaya, Bolu, and I wish a speedy recovery to our injured. “I convey my best wishes to all my brothers and Bolu who were affected by this tragic incident, which we have been following closely through our relevant institutions from the first moment and investigations have been initiated immediately,” he said.
