It's one of the winter soap operas. Arriving in the summer of 2023 at Al-Hilal, Neymar was supposed to be the figurehead of the Riyadh club which had spent no less than 90 million to dislodge him from Paris Saint-Germain. Ultimately, the Brazilian legend's Saudi adventure didn't really go as planned. After an interesting start, the former FC Barcelona player was quickly injured after an international rally which cost him dearly. Absent for many months, Neymar finally experienced a first blank season with Al-Hilal following a relapse during his rehabilitation program.

Back at the start of the season and with revenge, the top scorer in the history of the Brazilian selection finally missed several more weeks of competition which seriously annoyed the Saudi management. While he was only qualified for the Asian Champions League matches, the 32-year-old virtuoso planned to play a second part of the high-level season with the Saudi team. Ultimately, nothing has yet gone as planned for the native of Mogi das Cruzes.
Two options for Neymar's return to Santos
Under contract until next June, Neymar no longer fits into the plans of Jorge Jesus, the coach of Al-Hilal, who affirmed that Neymar no longer had the level for current football. From then on, the Brazilian was not qualified to play the second part of the season with the Saudi club, more determined than ever to get rid of his big contract and the setbacks of the former Santos nugget. Despite this worrying about-face from the leader of the Saudi Pro League towards him, Neymar could boast of still enjoying appreciable ratings on the American continent. In recent days, several sources have reported a pronounced interest from Chicago Fire in the United States. Problem is, the MLS team faced strong competition from Santos and Flamengo, keen to enlist one of the figures of Brazilian football this winter.

And according to the latest indiscretions of UOL EsporteNeymar's choice is made: he wants to return to his training club, Santos. A dream that could come to life in the form of a six-month loan, which would take the 32-year-old striker to the end of his contract with Al-Hilal. Then, Neymar will be free to go wherever he wants. The second option would be a termination of Neymar's contract this winter, which would allow him to freely join Santos this winter where he has already agreed from a contractual point of view. It remains to be seen whether Neymar is ready to sit out the end of his lucrative contract with Al-Hilal. In the event of termination, Neymar should sign six months at Santos with an additional year optional as reported by the Brazilian media.
