Gut-Behrami second on the day of the super G start record

Lara Gut-Behrami celebrated her 106th start in super G, a record equal to Renate Götschl, with the 42nd podium in the discipline, beating the Austrian herself in second place. The Ticinese made a small mistake in the second part of the track and thus crossed the finish line 0″58 behind the winner Federica Brignone, author of a great performance. The Italian achieved her 2nd consecutive podium (3rd yesterday in the downhill) and 6th in 11 seasonal races, extending her lead in the overall World Cup.

Corinne Suter was also excellent, as she is regaining her best condition after the serious knee injury suffered last year on Olimpia delle Tofane. In fact, the Swiss rider returned to the podium after almost two years, finishing in 3rd place, 1″08 behind Brignone. Lindsey Vonn, whose record of podiums in super G (46) is increasingly undermined by Gut-Behrami, made a mistake around halfway through the race and fell, fortunately without consequences. All the other Swiss teams in the race are outside the top 20.
