Stade Rennes – Brest: SRFC notes
Stade Rennes welcomed Brest to Roazhon Park for a derby on the 18th day. Here are the Rennes scores, out of 10.
Samba : 4
A decisive save in front of Baldé in the 50th minute, but too late. Away from the ball on Magnetti's beautiful strike, he misses his clearance which brings the 2nd goal, scored by Ajorque in front of him at the near post.
Hateboer : 3
Depth management always problematic, especially on the second goal where he was dropped by Sima, who crosses for Ajorque. Regularly taken behind his back, he planned to provide offensive solutions, which rarely led to danger.
Ostigard : 3
In the game without impact, he often showed his limits when the counterattacks went behind his back, like the 50th minute when he let Baldé go alone against Samba. A header off target (40th) from a free kick.
Replaced by Nagida at the hour mark, imprecise but voluntary.
Whoah : 4
Aligned on the left axis, he showed his limits in recovery, often quickly put under pressure. Replaced full axis, it was better. Offensively, he had the first big opportunity with a header, boxed by Bizot (8th), and the last (90+2nd), which he completely missed.
Assignon : 5
Envy, anger, but it wasn't enough. It is on his side that the danger most often arrives offensively, and he was able to try his luck, blocked (5th, 45th).
Truffert : 4
He also projected himself but was less successful, technically imprecise or not attempting the pass at the right time, and not finding anyone on his crosses. A shot off target (44th).
-Replaced by Meité for a great opportunity at the end of the match.
Matusiwa: 3
He won a very large part of his duels, but so often made the wrong choice, overwhelmed tactically. A very less impact on the game, and a forward projection that was lacking.
James : 5
More of a player in the game than in Troyes, which wasn't difficult. The Welshman played forward, was combative in the duel, and found the bar just before half-time.
Replaced by Gouiri before the hour mark for a more offensive eleven, author of a decisive pass for Blas, and several too feverish strikes.
Breathing: 3
Without influence on his left side, where Jorge Sampaoli lined him up from the start. Without juice to gain depth, he struggled and with Truffert the understanding was not obvious. Better when he took over the center at the hour mark, his real position. A blocked strike (44th).
Blas : 5
Invisible for 30 minutes, he had several chances, and got back into it in the second half. Soft shots on target (33rd, 39th), a header off target (65th), a shot on target (80th) and a goal to reduce the score. Still decisive, despite the defeat.
Kalimuendo : 4
From stalling activity, he made himself very available to his family, especially in the first period. But his attempts (14th, 46th) were blocked, or completely missed (80th). Running out of energy in the last quarter of an hour.
