During the night of Saturday January 18 to Sunday January 19, urban violence was triggered in the Saugeraies district of Mâcon.
A first assessment communicated by the prefecture of Saône-et-Loire revealed three public buildings damaged, seven light vehicles burned, an excavator and ten trash bins burned. In addition, three police vehicles were damaged. 35 means of defense were used.
Orders taken and reinforcements requested
Prefect Yves Séguy issued several decrees from Sunday January 19 at 8 a.m. to Tuesday January 21 at 11 p.m. for the ban on the detention, transport of weapons, all categories combined, ammunition and objects that could constitute a weapon concerning the municipalities from Mâcon, Sancé and Charnay-lès-Mâcon.
The state representative also requested the reinforcement of mobile security forces for the coming night.
-At 5 a.m., calm had returned and the departmental operational center (activated by the prefect to monitor the evolution of events live) was lifted.
