In the basement duel between Holstein Kiel and TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, the Kraichgauer team managed a 3-1 (2-0) away win and left the relegation zone. In another basement duel, FC St. Pauli managed a 2-0 (1-0) win at 1. FC Heidenheim.
At the start of the 18th matchday, Eintracht Frankfurt exacerbated Borussia Dortmund's crisis with a 2-0 win. On Sunday, 1. FC Union Berlin and FSV Mainz 05 as well as SV Werder Bremen and FC Augsburg will meet.
