Happy to have finally put an end to Amiens SC's black streak by winning against Bastia (1-0) thanks to a penalty falling from the sky, Antoine Leautey recognizes that this success was vital for a group which was starting to lose confidence.
A breath of oxygen
“We really felt that we were a sick team, a little in trouble. We needed to regain our confidence, this victory will feel good. It wasn't the best match of the year, but at least we managed to cover the essentials, that will allow us to work peacefully.”
An emergency already present
“Apart from the fact of having suffered, we felt that we were a little feverish with the ball. We didn't dare too much, we were afraid of doing harm. We are arriving at a period where we have to collect points. Ligue 2 is a difficult championship and you have to know how to take points in January-February to ensure survival. Mentally, it feels really good.”
