During the visit, the ministers affirmed the strong Czech-Tanzanian relations, highlighting their shared commitment to democratic values and respect for the international legal order.

“Czech tourists are very popular in Tanzania. In terms of visitors to Zanzibar, Czechs even rank in the top ten. Both Czechia and Tanzania have established honorary consulates. I also consider it important that we have intensive contacts with Tanzania at the parliamentary level. I also see Tanzania as an important security player in the region,” Minister Jan Lipavský said after the meeting.

In the discussion, the ministers focused specifically on the current development of cooperation in a number of areas.

“Czech companies are already active in Tanzania in areas such as the modernization and electrification of railways and the aviation industry. This also includes technology transfer, know-how, and education. But we are interested in doing even more, and in more sectors. We discussed the possibilities of closer cooperation in the fields of health, research, and environmental protection,” the Czech foreign minister added.

The ministers also discussed possibilities for future multilateral cooperation and mutual support in exchanging candidacies for international organisations, including the Czech candidacy for the UN Security Council for the 2032-2033 period.
