Courtois is left out, Alaba and Vallejo are not
After the Super Cup, Real Madrid is over now in the Copa del Rey anymore. And with almost the same template as the last time.
Only a few players were called up for the round of 16 against Celta (Thursday, 9 p.m., in REAL TOTAL-ticker live and in the live stream) removed. So Thibaut Courtois, as Carlo Ancelotti said in the announced Pressekonferenz, take a break. And David Alaba is not there either, as is Jesús Vallejo – although both participated in the final training session -. Alaba is not scheduled to enter service until January 20 and Vallejo is expected to leave the club.
Named final quartet
It was only partly to be expected that no further changes would occur. Because after the Super Cup final (2-5) there were sick players. But Kylian Mbappé, Jude Bellingham and Federico Valverde, slightly ill, were called up, as was Eduardo Camavinga, absent on Tuesday due to flu. But that does not have to mean that all four are starters, so not only Lunin, but also Raúl Asencio and Arda Güler can hope to have a chance from the beginning.
