Around 4:15 a.m., this Wednesday, January 15, 2025, two heavy goods vehicles and six light vehicles collided in a pile-up on the A4 motorway. The accident took place in the Paris-Strasbourg direction, near Hombourg-Haut (Moselle).
If the vehicles involved were evacuated at 7:40 a.m., strong slowdowns remain.
Many slowdowns
When the accident had not yet been cleared, these were nearly ten kilometers of traffic jams which were formed in the Paris-Strasbourg direction, reports the Saint-Avold motorized gendarmerie platoon. In the other direction, vehicles stagnated on four kilometers.
Currently and until the end of the day, the left lane is neutralized to redo the safety barriers in the direction of the accident – which creates further slowdowns when traffic increases.
Only minor injuries
All occupants of the vehicles involved escaped almost escaped unscathed despite the scale of the accident.
The Moselle departmental fire and rescue operational center (CODIS 57) confirms that it has not only minor injuries.
