While fires still threaten entire neighborhoods of Los Angeles, American actress Dalyce Curry was found dead at the age of 95 under the rubble of her home on Sunday January 12. It was his granddaughter Dalyce Kelley who announced the sad news on social networks after several days of searching: « Thank goodness the National Guard let me go up to check on the remains. She’s under this roof, I know it. I just have to wait for the searches to be done. I did everything I could », she declared. Before continuing: « She has come a long way and influenced my life in many ways. This loss is devastating. »
Dalyce Kelley was the last person to see the actress alive on Tuesday, January 7. In the evening that followed, the young woman received an alert announcing a power outage in her grandmother’s neighborhood. Although the latter wanted to join her to ensure her safety, she was unable to do so. Dalyce Curry had lived for several years in a residence located in Altadena, California, an area infamous for its vulnerability to fires. The home was inaccessible and the family had to wait almost 5 days for confirmation of the actress’ death.
The actress’ granddaughter then spoke in an interview with ABC News : « Our souls are hurting, our hearts are broken. She loved Altadena. No one loved this city more than my grandmother. She said she hadn’t started living yet, so I knew she would be around beyond 100 years. She still wanted to date, she wanted to find a husband… They need to do better with the emergency system because there is a community of very elderly people. »
