Why is the replay of Sept à Huit no longer available? TF1 reacts

After the broadcast, this Sunday, January 12, of a report in Seven to Eight on the testimony of a French woman defrauded by a person pretending to be Brad Pitt, TF1 removed the replay from its platform following the numerous messages of mockery against the victim.

A story that is barely believable and yet very real! Every Sunday, Harry Roselmack is at the helm of Seven to eight on TF1. In this magazine created in 2000, the 51-year-old journalist offers his loyal viewers three reports on various subjects that are in the news of the moment. During a new issue, broadcast this Sunday, January 12, the weekly news program notably returned to one of the biggest love scams experienced by Anne, a French woman now aged 53, on social networks.

Seven to Eight (TF1): the shocking testimony of a woman defrauded by a fake Brad Pitt on Instagram

In the report, the victim, who was new to Instagram at the time, explained how she fell, little by little, into the trap set by a grazer (the name given to scammers who are rampant on the Internet). To seduce her, the person used photos of the famous American actor Brad Pitt. Convinced that the romance she was experiencing with the Hollywood star was very real, Anne allowed herself to be manipulated. The impostor claimed to have kidney cancer and allegedly extorted 830,000 euros from him. A record in this type of affair! At that time, the victim (now divorced) was married to a millionaire, but their relationship was failing. “I had someone in front of me who was interested in me and my work because my own husband wasn't even interested in my work (…) It's as if I lived alone”confided Anne in the report.

Seven to Eight : why did TF1 remove the replay of the report?

On social networks, the report quickly created a buzz. Just a few hours after its broadcast, numerous extracts were already circulating. And many Internet users began to make fun of Anne's incredible situation, as well as the poor quality of the photo montages made by the grazer to scam his victim. A situation that the witness would have experienced very badly. Faced with this outcry, TF1 reacted by removing the replay of the documentary from its platform. This Tuesday, January 14, a message was also published on the X account (formerly Twitter) of Seven to Eight to justify this decision. Seven to Eight is an information program that deals neutrally with social problems”recalled the program. “The report broadcast this Sunday sparked a wave of harassment against a witness. For the protection of the victims, we have decided to have it removed from our platforms”we could read in conclusion.
