Météo-France had warned: frosts are expected at the start of the week. This Tuesday, January 14, 2025, temperatures are particularly low in certain departments.
In Nancy, we expect -8°C, or 8 degrees below seasonal norms. Same in Clermont-Ferrand. The thermometer will display -5 in Nantes and Toulouse, -3 in Marseille and Paris.
-3 or -4°C in the Center-West
In the Centre-Val de Loire, gloves and hats are also recommended early in the morning. It is -3°C in Indre-et-Loire and Loir-et-Cher. In Indre, we can even expect -4°C in the north or south of the department.
On the New Aquitaine side, it is -3 in Deux-Sèvres in Niort, and -4 in Vienne, in Poitiers.
However, the cold remains “classic for the season”tempers Météo-France. These temperatures are the result of an anticyclone “positioned over northern Europe, combined with cold and dry air at low levels”.
Peaks at -10 in certain places
The jellies can be “strong up to the plain, with minimums around -10°C in places from the foothills of the Massif Central to the eastern facade”.
For the rest of the week, from the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, “a softer but more humid air mass will advance over the north of the country”, indicates Météo-France.
Frosts will still be frequent, before being “significantly weaker on Thursday” then intensify again at the end of the week.
