Once upon a time there was a Danish director, leading figure of the Dogme95 cinematographic movement, and author of the memorable “Festen” (the story of a family meal which shatters around a heavy secret) and “Drunk” (which shows the experimental alcoholism of a group of friends). Seven years ago, staying in Paris for professional reasons, Thomas Vinterberg became homesick. One thing leading to another, he questioned the feeling of being a foreigner, but also of growing up in a world subject to drought and hurricanes.
