Diese Woche findet zum ersten Mal in der laufenden Biathlon-Saison 2024/25 ein Weltcup in Deutschland statt. Neben einem Sprint sowie einer Verfolgung stehen auch ein Staffel-Rennen sowie eine Mixed-Staffel auf dem Programm. Die deutschen Biathletinnen starten mit großem Selbstbewusstsein in den ersten Heimweltcup des neuen Jahres. Beim Sprint am Donnerstag in Oberhof sind die Augen vor allem auf Franziska Preuß gerichtet. Die 30-Jährige will mit ihrem nächsten Top-Ergebnis das Gelbe Trikot verteidigen. Bisher hat sie zwei Siege und vier weitere Podestplätze auf dem Konto.

Biathlon in Oberhof: Schedule and dates for the World Cup
The World Cup in Oberhof starts on Thursday January 9th with the women’s sprint and continues on Friday with the men’s sprint. Afterwards there are pursuit races and a mixed relay. Until 12 January the coveted World Cup points are fought for.

Biathlon in Oberhof: broadcast on free TV and live stream
Winter sports fans who cannot be there live can follow the World Cup in Oberhof from the comfort of their own home. The public broadcasters ARD and ZDF are taking turns broadcasting the World Cups this season. Eurosport also broadcasts the Biathlon World Cups live on TV. One too free live stream The public broadcasters offer it in their media libraries as well as at sportschau.de and zdf.de.
This week it is ZDF’s turn and will broadcast the World Cup in Oberhof live on free TV and stream from Thursday. The paid streaming provider discovery+ shows a Eurosport live stream. Ticket sales for the Biathlon World Cup in Oberhof have already begun. Biathlon fans can still secure tickets on the organizer’s website. For example, a ticket for the opening day on January 9th costs 44 euros for an adult in the stands. There is also the option to purchase ticket packages for all days. Cost for an adult: 210 euros.
