Yaël Braun-Pivet opens up about her breast cancer, between thunderclap and anguish.
HEALTH – Yaël Braun Privet invites you to take a “ good resolution » this year: go get tested. Because this is how she discovered, in 2022, that she had breast cancer. The President of the National Assembly revealed this in the program Ladiespresented by Maïtena Biraben and of which she broadcast an extract on Friday December 10.
“Like more than 60,000 women each year, I was diagnosed with breast cancer just 3 years ago”writes the politician in a long message. An announcement that she lived “like a clap of thunder” car « no one is prepared to have cancer. »

“Like them, I lived with the uncertainty of the diagnosis, the anxiety of the operation, the wait for the analysis results, the daily life of the treatments”confides Yaël Braun Pivet. Today she says “go well” and currently be “under hormonal therapy”followed by a team of caregivers.

By sharing her experience, the President of the National Assembly wants to raise awareness about screening and remind people of the importance of prevention. She admits to having “ sometimes left the envelopes from the national screening campaign or my doctor’s prescription lying around on the living room table. It was by finally making up her mind that she was able to be diagnosed.
“So, if you need to make a good resolution at the start of the year, I can only recommend that you go get tested. Breast cancer, colon cancer, cervical cancer…: don’t wait any longer! »she wrote on X.
In the extract she shared, we see her sitting on a sofa facing Maïtena Biraben to whom she explains that the fact of having been able to take care of her cancer early enough allowed her to have an operation, to have had radiotherapy and to be today “ cured ».
