Will Smith Sets First-ever Concert in This Summer

The show, which is set to take place July 31, at the Roman Theatre of , will be part of the international Positive Festival. Smith’s appearance falls into plans for the rapper/actor to return to music after a long pause.

According to Variety, Smith is reported working on a new album. The “Brand New Funk” MC is already planting the seeds for the forthcoming project with his latest single “Work of .

The tune, said to be the lead single for Smith’s album, features the “King Richard” star’s son, Jaden Smith, and fellow rhymesayer Russ.

The single is not the first taste of new music fans have gotten from Smith. In April, he appeared with J. Balvin at Coachella during the Columbian singer’s asset.

That was followed by a cameo at the BET Awards in June to perform his other new song “You Can Make It” for the first time live with Kirk Franklin and Chandler Moore as well as a surprise appearance at La Velada Del Año 4 late last year.

The faith-based “You Can Make It” was released in June under Smith’s new music label Slang.

In between the BET Awards and Velada Del Año 4, Smith signed with Slang in July.

Smith’s upcoming debut show in France will follow previous international concerts in Australia and the United Kingdom, among other countries.
