Serie A to relaunch.

This Thursday, the Italian newspaper Republican claims Thiago Motta’s Juventus would have completed the arrival on loan of Ronald Araujo this winter, from FC Barcelona. The 25-year-old Uruguay international could join the Old Lady next week, until the end of the season. A rumor contradicted by Spanish journalist Gerard Romero, who claims that no final agreement has been reached, even if discussions are taking place between Juve and Barca, and that other clubs are potentially interested.

A delicate return to competition with Barcelona

Closed in Catalonia by the Cubarsí-Martinez central hinge, Ronald Araujo has only played one cup match since his return to the Blaugrana group in December. Four matches where he sat on the bench (including this Wednesday evening against Bilbao), and one start in a lower-stakes match. Two elements which prove that the 1.88m colossus lost a lot following his long ischio injury, which kept him away from the field for five months.

Proof once again that football moves very quickly: regular captain of FCB last season, Ronald Araujo could now leave for the relaunch at a fallen giant from Italy, stuck in fifth place in the standings mid-season. It remains to be seen whether the Catalan leaders agree to let him leave given the injury to Eric Garcia in the Super Cup and Christensen still recovering from his Achilles tendon injury.
