A windfall for the mechanic?
However, the installer is not alone. Another employee tells “Blick” that he doesn’t know how he’s going to pay for his food and health insurance. Another fate even had to go to the social welfare office after only working for five weeks. Money never came in.
The criminal entrepreneur is not only responsible for missing wage payments and incorrect accounting. Threats towards employees were also normal. «I worked overtime every day. My boss threatened to fire me if I didn’t finish a construction site,” says the same mechanic who won the court case surrounding the fines and overtime. He can now look forward to 10,000 francs – but it is questionable whether this money will ever reach his account. Viva Solar’s debts are in the millions.
Accounting in a transparent box
A picture available to Blick shows David Zlatkovic’s accounting: a transparent box stuffed with unspecified paperwork. The probability that the defrauded couple’s documents are also here is not small.
A flashy lifestyle with expensive cars and luxury watches on the one hand – and a company on the decline on the other: That is the reality behind the company Viva Solar. “Sometimes Zlatkovic gets nervous towards the end of the month because he has no money left. Then he arbitrarily terminates some employees,” says a company assistant. She was also fired.
In contrast, Zlatkovic’s statement says that she quit herself and stopped coming to work. Right to a wage? According to Zlatkovic, not given. “A blatant lie!” He also blocked another employee’s number after she tried to reach him about her salary.
-Prosecutor is aware of the case
The public prosecutor’s office is already familiar with the “Viva Solar” case. Some allegations could now have serious consequences. These include withholding social security contributions or falsifying extracts from the debt collection register. The state has received a complaint against Zlatkovic, as the public prosecutor’s office confirmed to Blick.
Zlatkovic doesn’t see himself as guilty. Wages were paid correctly and omissions were clarified with the authorities. «If someone has a problem with me, they should talk to me. My door is open to everyone,” he told the “Work-Zeitung” some time ago.
Since December, however, he has hardly been seen in his booth. The company cars were reclaimed by the landlord and the few remaining employees are still waiting for their wages. The hope of just one centime is as good as dead. There doesn’t seem to be an end in sight to the fight against the managing director.
