“The shopping list is expensive”the government was told when receiving the demands of the Socialist Party. The ministers began consultations on Monday with the various political groups in Bercy and at the Ministry of Labor, Health and Solidarity, in order to try to obtain a compromise on the finance bill (PLF) and that of financing of social security (PLFSS). On Wednesday evening, a joint meeting was underway at the Ministry of the Economy with the leaders of three of the four parties – PS, PCF and Ecologists – making up the New Popular Front. The Bayrou government is thus paying particular attention to their demands… especially those of the socialists, hoping that their 66 deputies will abstain in the next votes of no confidence and avoid the same fate as Michel Barnier.
