The highlight of 2024 for the town was, without context, the inauguration of the Simone-Veil school in the presence of his grandson Aurélien Veil and Minister Patricia Miralles, in charge of veterans and memory. In the presence of many personalities, both cut the tricolor ribbon alongside the chief magistrate, Jean-Pierre Simo-Cazenave. As an aside, Aurélien Veil confided: “It is an honor for me to be here for this inauguration. I think it is consistent with my grandmother's plans, her care for children, the importance of always thinking about their future, her attachment to the Republic and to the republican principles which, today, require each of our commitments. Being here today is for me both a pleasure, an honor and a commitment.” Addressing children in particular, Aurélien Veil declared: “Dear children, I am honored to be among you to inaugurate the school to which you named my grandmother.”
After the children sang the song Madame VeilMinister Patricia Miralles confided: “I find that it is always a special moment to inaugurate a school, it is a highlight.
