With Shores, broadcast from Monday January 4 at 9:05 p.m., 2 is offering an event mini-series, set against the backdrop of an ecological thriller. Carried by Fleur Geffrier, Thierry Godard and Guillaume Labbé, it is also performed by a wonderful young actor, Ewenn Weber, in the role of Jimmy, a hearing-impaired teenager. Is he really that in life?

Monday January 6, France 2 offers the first two episodes of its event mini-series, Shores (our opinion), with Fleur Geffrier (revealed in Drops of God), Thierry Godard (president of the last Fiction Festival), Jean-Marc Barr (hero of Big Blue in 1988) and Guillaume Labbé (Escort Boys). Without forgetting the young Ewenn Weber, alias Jimmy, the latter's stepson, who plays a hearing-impaired schoolboy in this series, already available in full on france.tv.

Shores : an ecological thriller directed by the director of Germinal

Produced in extreme conditions by David Hourrègue, to whom we owe the adaptation of Germinal on France 2 based on the novel by Emile Zola, the fiction tells how a mysterious creature lurking at the bottom of the waters endangers a community of fishermen. An ecological thriller shedding light on the deleterious relationship between men and Nature and an immersion in the harshness of a profession often criticized by certain discourses on environmental protection. Thus, following the unexplained sinking of a trawler, Abigail, an oceanologist from IFREMER played by Fleur Geffrier, returns to Fécamp, her hometown, three years after a family tragedy. The opportunity for her to reunite with her husband, played by Guillaume Labbé, and her son-in-law, Jimmy, a hearing-impaired schoolboy played by Ewenn Weber.

Shores : Why did the director hire a truly hearing-impaired actor?

During the press conference organized at the La Rochelle Fiction Festival last September, director David Hourrègue spoke about the reasons which led him to hire Ewenn Weber, a young actor suffering from the same handicap in life as his character: “We needed a deaf interpreter. When Ewenn arrived at the end of a long casting call, we knew straight away that it was going to be him. Not only did he understand everything, but, above all, he was already used to getting by with his handicap. He was great!” To give him the answer Fleur Geffrier and Guillaume Labbé learned sign language, also practiced by the director during filming. For his first major role, there is no doubt that the presence on screen of this budding actor bodes well for a promising future!
