This new fiction recommended by Leisure TV is freely adapted from the novels of Camilla Läckberg, one of the major figures in the world of Swedish crime fiction. Erica Faure (Julie de Bona), a successful novelist, returns to her hometown to empty the house of her recently deceased parents. But upon her arrival, the latter makes a macabre discovery: Alexandra, her childhood best friend, is found dead, a blade in her hand, in a bathtub full of blood. Convinced that it is not a suicide, Erica decides to carry out her own investigation to discover the true circumstances of Alexandra's death and unravel the secrets of this affair! During this investigation, Julie (Julie Sassoust) plays a central role: that of the victim's little sister. Well, that's what we think at first… Because at a key moment in the investigation, Julie discovers a terrible family secret. Alexandra was not his sister! Indeed, the one she believed to be her sister was in reality her mother. And her parents were in reality her grandparents… A double tragedy for the young woman.
Erica: Julie Sassoust reveals that she was surprised by the script of the TF1 series!
Interviewed by Télé Loisirs, Julie Sassoust, the interpreter of Julie in Erica confides that she was surprised by the final twist in the series with Julie de Bona and Grégory Fitoussi (whom we recently saw in Cat’s Eyes) :“Yes, I was surprised. I constantly asked myself: 'How do we deal with this kind of situation?' It’s such a big lie! We’re left speechless.” Before adding: “Can you imagine? We arrive and we tell you: 'Actually, no. Your sister who just died, well she's not your sister. In reality, she was your mother. And your lifelong parents, well really, they're your grandparents.' Reading the summary, I said to myself: 'Oh my, what the hell is that?!' Plus, I imagine that in real life, people have actually been able to experience this kind of story… Well maybe. It’s so special.” Despite the surprise that this situation may have caused her, the young 29-year-old actress chose to take full inspiration from it, using this emotion to enrich this intrigue around her character. “It was important for me to maintain this feeling of amazement in relation to my acting”she adds in conclusion.
