FC Bayern can rely on Manuel Neuer again
With captain Manuel Neuer, FC Bayern has started preparing for the second half of the season. After breaking his rib at the beginning of December, the former national goalkeeper was back at coach Vincent Kompany's first team training session in the new year. Other stars such as Harry Kane, Jamal Musiala, Joshua Kimmich and Thomas Müller also took part in the session.
-Kingsley Coman (torn hamstring), Josip Stanisic (torn lateral ligament in his right knee) and Serge Gnabry (knee problems), who were recently injured, also took part in the game after twelve days of vacation.
FC Bayern's test match on Monday: the only test before the start of the Bundesliga
Hiroki Ito (broken metatarsal) and João Palhinha (torn muscle bundle), however, only trained individually on Säbener Straße. Sacha Boey (left ankle ligament injury) was completely absent from team training.
On Friday (January 3rd), FC Bayern completed a public training session on their club premises. The Munich team will play their only test match on Monday against former Austrian series champions Red Bull Salzburg. Kompany's team continues in the Bundesliga on January 11th (6:30 p.m.) at Borussia Mönchengladbach. (dpa/kk)
