“A disturbance associated with a mild air mass is sweeping the entire country, in a southwest/northeast direction. This mild air puts an end to the snow and freezing rain that required monitoring”meteorologists said. “This Sunday is marked by the return of mild weather. Up to thirty departments were placed on orange vigilance yesterday by Météo-France. Freezing rain also led to the closure of several highways in Burgundy on Saturday evening, and caused a pileup. The driver of one of the vehicles, a 20-year-old young man, died, while four other people were slightly injured, including a 6-year-old child, firefighters said. Sixteen road accidents have been recorded in Côte d'Or, causing sixty victims including, in addition to the young man who died, two seriously injured.
