Cabella created danger
At the end of a match without great chances, Lille, who only had three shots on target, were able to count on the talent of Rémy Cabella. Author of two of Lille's three shots on target, the former French international started on the left side of the Lille attack. After a good first half, Cabella hit the bar after a classy action before Gudmundsson opened the scoring for Lille (40th). Author of several high-class dribbles, the 34-year-old continued to liven up the Lille attack and tried to find David or Haraldsson offensively without success.
Abline, scorer and decisive
Mathis Abline was undoubtedly the best offensive player in Nantes. Established alone at the forefront of his team's attack, the young French striker was able to create danger in the Lille defense unlike his teammates Ignatius Ganago and Sorba Thomas. He knew how to seize his chance by converting his penalty in the 70th minute. Replaced in the 90th + 2 by Pallois to secure the draw, Abline undoubtedly scored points with his coach Antoine Kombouaré.
Gudmundsson solid defensively
In a match where he did not have much work, Lille left back Gabriel Gudmundsson was effective. Impactful in his position, Gudmundsson also made himself available offensively. After catching Cabella's shot which hit the bar, the 25-year-old defender scored the Lille goal in the 40th minute with a superb right-footed flat that deceived Lopes. Replaced by Ismaily in the 77th minute, the Swedish defender had a serious match.
FLOPS
The Canaries attack absent
As since the start of the season, the Nantes attack will have been in difficulty in Lille. Apart from the good match of the scorer Mathis Abline, his attacking friends Ganago and Thomas had very little influence on the match. Unable to get a shot on target in the first half, Nantes thought they could equalize at the start of the second half through Ganago before the goal was cancelled. After Abline's equalizer from the penalty spot, the Nantais failed to get a shot on target, the replacement of Ganago by Coco changing nothing in the appearance of the Canaries' attack.
David transparent
In a Lille attack in difficulty, Jonathan David was undoubtedly the Lille player who weighed the least on the debates. With 27 balls touched and zero shots on target, the Canadian striker did not worry the Nantes defense. Top scorer in the championship with 11 goals, David has not scored in a month in the championship. His offensive ineffectiveness, as well as those of Haraldsson and Sahraoui, prevents Lille from temporarily climbing onto the Ligue 1 podium.
