In Corsica, gendarmes ride electric motorcycles
The Corsican gendarmerie takes a further step towards modernity and eco-responsibility. Two electric off-road motorcycles, silent and non-polluting, have just been integrated into the motorized fleet of the island's law enforcement agencies. Manufactured by the French company Electric Motion, these innovative motorcycles could well be a game-changer in terms of preserving the environment on the island. Developed with 95% components from French or European manufacturing, they offer remarkable autonomy and display technical performance adapted to missions in a natural environment.urel. Light, maneuverable and silent, they allow police officers to move efficiently in areas that are often difficult to access, while limiting their environmental impact.
These machines will mainly be mobilized to strengthen the fight against environmental offenses. The missions concern in particular the protection of classified natural areas, the surveillance of sites where camping is prohibited, the prevention of littering, as well as the repression of motorized rodeos in the wilderness. The patrols will also aim to improve the prevention of fire risks, a crucial issue on the island territory, particularly exposed during the summer period.
