Inter-Atalantathe first semi-final of the 2024/25 Italian Super Cup, ended 2-0 thanks to a brace from Dumfries. Inzaghi's team therefore awaits the winner of Juventus-Milan and dreams of their 9th triumph in the competition, while the Bergamo players bid farewell to Saudi Arabia prematurely. Below are the report cards of all the protagonists of the match at the Al-Awwal Stadium in Riyadh.
Inter's report cards
Yann SUMMER 6.5 – With the help of Scalvini in the first half and Carlos Augusto in the second half he survived until the ninetieth minute when it was his turn to intervene. The double save on Djimsiti and Lookman is worth the fifteenth clean sheet of the season (for Inter it is the fourth in four matches in Arabia), extraordinary numbers.
Yann BISSECK 7 – Imperious in the two penalty areas, he mocks Zaniolo, foils threats and stings Atalanta on every dead ball. He comes close to scoring with a header several times, and is invaluable with his goals. With one of these Dumfries serve for 1-0.
Stefan DE VRIJ 6 – Until Lookman and De Ketelaere enter, he is calm and delights in vertical passes that bring applause, then drops. In added time Djimsiti dominates him but Sommer is there.
Alessandro BASTONI 6 – He approaches the match badly, with the clumsy header with which he offers Scalvini an unmissable chance. He makes himself more appreciated in the second half when he raises his center of gravity to upset the situation. (dal 67' CARLOS AUGUSTO 6.5 – He avoids De Ketelaere's 2-1 with a super sliding intervention and offers Lautaro an inviting ball).
Denzel DUMFRIES 8 – He hadn't played even a minute in the two Super Cups won by Inter in Riyadh, but he made up for it by dragging Inzaghi to the final with a phenomenal double. An acrobatics with his back to the goal and a missile under the crossbar, only applause.
Nicolò BARELLA 6.5 – He widens and narrows to stress the Atalanta defense, stops Zaniolo on the counterattack with a spectacular run-up, and delivers some of his magic with the ball at his feet. He is the one who triggered the restart of the 2-0. (from 81' Davide FRATTESI 6 – In the last action of the match he could make it 3-0, but Zappacosta opposed it.)
Hakan CALHANOGLU 6.5 – There's too much traffic in the middle of the pitch, he impacts by ducking and throwing, and with free kicks it's a factor. Inter created panic from a free kick and a corner. (dal 67' Kristjan Aslani 5,5 – He's not up to par with the Turk, Inter are crushed a lot after his arrival).
Henrikh MKHITARYAN 6 – Ready, off we go very close to scoring, held back only by Zappacosta. Decisive for recovered balls, he bumps shoulders with de Roon and uses up his inexhaustible tank.
Federico DIMARCO 6.5 – In the first half he was unable to punish Carnesecchi on the rebound and remained hidden. Upon returning from the break he conquered his area of responsibility and there was trouble for Atalanta; half an assist for Dumfries' 2-0. (from 76' Matteo DARMIAN sv)
Marcus THURAM 6 – He comes out as a precaution due to slight fatigue in his left adductor after a period played entirely in Lautaro's service, with excellent moves. Above all the bucking in minute 1. (from 46' Mehdi TAREMI 6.5 – He collects an important inheritance and manages not to make Thuram regret it. Many good things, but his captain fails to score).
Lautaro MARTINEZ 5 – He walks Hien and Kolasinac all over the pitch relentlessly, and that's commendable. But he is unable to give continuity to the streak opened in Cagliari, despite having the possibility. On three occasions Carnesecchi stops him, on as many occasions his aim betrays him. Will the goal have been saved for the final?
Coach Simone INZAGHI 7 – He achieved his seventh victory in a row against Gasperini's Atalanta and thus put his sixth personal Super Cup in his sights thanks to the pearls of Dumfries. His Inter deserve to go to the final, they could have scored 4 more at the Dea. And he can rejoice in Taremi's impact.

ATALANTA report cards
CARNESECCHI frame 7.5 – The scene is taken with the parades that keep the Goddess alive as long as possible. He won the duel with Lautaro by a landslide, denying him a goal three times; blown away by Dumfries' technical gestures.
Odilon KOSSOUNOU 6.5 – In defense he is always in the right place at the right time. He moves well, and more than his other teammates he is able to defuse Inzaghi's offensive weapons. (from 68' Marco PALESTRA 6 – He immediately loses a ball that could lead to 3-0, he makes amends at the end with a big advance on Lautaro)
Isak HIEN 5.5 – Lautaro and Thuram continually exchange positions, and he wobbles from the first to the last moment. He almost compromised the Dea's evening by leaving the Inter number 10 on the open field after an empty advance.
Pigs KOLASINAC 6 – He holds his position diligently, and helps himself with his physique when attacked. On his side the defense holds up.
Davide ZAPPACOSTA 6.5 – Positive presence in both phases. Save the Goddess in the first and last minute on attempts by Mkhitaryan and Frattesi.
Marten DE ROON 6 – Gasp changes almost everything but does not do without the captain, who is truly irreplaceable. He waits for Calhanoglu, fights with Mkhitaryan, all without major mistakes.
Giorgio SCALVINI 4.5 – Like a child thrown into the water without armrests to learn to swim, he surprisingly finds himself in the starting lineup 214 days after the last time (when he broke his cruciate), and to make matters worse he is in the midfield and has to take care of Barella. The assumptions are scary and he does great in many things. However, he has on his conscience the missed header in the 16th minute and he misses the goal in Dumfries. He finishes from the fifth on the right. (dal 62' Weight DJIMSITI 6 – He has the opportunity to make it 2-1 in the scrum, Sommer tells him no).
Matteo RUGGERI 5.5 – He pushes hard, stops Dumfries in some way when entering the area just before the break but also makes serious mistakes. Like the one at the beginning which favors a flying start for Inter. (from 56' EDERSON 6.5 – He has a different engine than his teammates, he directs the final attacks and has a goal disallowed by VAR for millimetric offside).
Lazar SAMARDZIC 5,5 – He sews up the departments with many first-intention passes but never manages to leave his mark, more concerned with shielding Inter's first build-up. And he approaches the recovery badly. (dal 56' Charles DE KETELAERE 5.5 – Dumfries's attack ruins Gasperini's plan. But if Lookman and Ederson do not lose heart, the Belgian is less reactive. So much so that he gets anticipated by Carlos Augusto on a ball just to push)
Marco BRESCIANINI 6 – At the start he was shy and certainly lost, but as the minutes went by he understood better how to move, and even created some problems for Inter. Even in the 90th minute he made a good play.
Nicolò ZANIOLO 5 – The first opportunity as a starter is not to be remembered. Of course he is generous in the defensive phase, even more than one might expect, but he is unable to fill the penalty area and is impalpable. The Goddess takes courage in some phases of the match but inevitably hits the wall raised by Inzaghi. (from 56' Ademola LOOKMAN 6.5 – With him the plot changes, the Goddess becomes threatening with greater continuity. The African Golden Ball misses in front of Sommer but is offside. Then he starts the action of the canceled 2-1 and wastes the chance on Djmsiti's header rebounded by Sommer).
Coach Gian Piero GASPERINI 5 – He shows up in Riyadh with an experimental Atalanta, perhaps sacrificing the Super Cup for more important objectives, and Inzaghi presents him with the bill. He does everything possible not to concede a goal at the start of the match and collects it at the start of the second half. Ten goals conceded and zero scored in the last three matches against Inter speak for themselves.
